Walking the Road to Restoration

Updated: Mar 24, 2023

Welcome Hikers on this journey from adversity to abundance

Welcome hiker. precious one. We are glad you have made the decision to walk this road of restoration to “Embrace Joy.” The hike towards True Joy covers rough terrain, changing weather, along with challenging relationships. This blog is open to those experiencing hurts, heart-break and hang-ups to find hope and healing. Having the full armor of God on; including the Sword of the Spirit, our Bible; will ensure we are prepared with God as our guide. Scriptures, as I blog, will be in the New International Version (NIV). "Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me." (Psalm 23:4 NIV)

As we start down the trail, let me introduce you to me. Although I was named Sharon Joy, which means to share joy to others, I want you to know that I have not always felt that joy. The Bible says God gives us JOY and PEACE. It tells us that real joy comes from God and is ours forever. The joy that is found in God's presence transforms and regenerates us. Through trauma I developed a lack of trust and with the bitterness I built an emotional brick wall where I could not experience the feeling of joy. The fears, failures and frustrations pushed me to flooding my mind in scripture to learn of the joy God had for me. Over 20 years ago, God gave me a calling to help others who have experienced adversity. I not only have received a Bachelor's in Secondary Education but obtained a Master's Degree in Adult Education and Instructional Technology, I have acquired training as a lay counselor to specialize in helping trauma survivors. My certification as a Life Mastery Consultant with the Brave Thinking Institute has prepared me to even further help you transform your life and Embrace Joy.

On this hike, I will coach you as you work to move emotional boulders that slow us down. Each obstacle removed leads us closer to experiencing what God has promised. Becoming closer to God and feeling his JOY is is why I desire to hike this journey with you. I pray for healing for all of us and hold onto the promises of Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
